FAQ
The Maternity Dress Shop Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: How will I know if the dress will fit?
A:  Dress requirements and measurements can be checked by email/telephone prior to the hire date.
Also arrangements can be made for a dress to be sent to you some time before your special occasion for you to try on, to make sure it's the right dress for you. This will normally be midweek. (To try a dress you will need to arrange and pay for a hire, including the deposit. If the dress doesn't fit the hire costs and deposit will be refunded on safe return of the dress).
We will send the dress to you by Royal Mail Special Delivery, at a cost to you of £5.95. (Two dresses will cost £6.95 P&P).

A: Once you have decided on your dress we will send you an invoice by email.  This can be paid securely by card, bank transfer or Paypal. You can also pay by cheque - if there is enough time for the cheque to clear before the hire period begins.

A: The usual length is four days, over a weekend. However if this isn't suitable for your requirements just let us know your needs - we can usually help out!

A: When you hire the dress you will be provided with a Hire Agreement and pay a deposit. If the dress is lost or damaged whilst in your care the deposit may be retained iaw the Hire Agreement.  In normal circumstances the deposit will be refunded when the hire dress is safely returned to The Maternity Dress Shop in the same condition as when sent.  The deposit will be the same value as the dress hire, i.e. if the cost of hire is £20 then the deposit is £20 too.

A: No - we do that for you after the dress is returned. The cost of cleaning is already included in your hire cost.

A: We will clean the dress after it is returned. Most marks come out at this stage.  If the dress is marked or stained in such a way that the dress is unable to be used for future hires then the deposit may be retained in accordance with the Hire Agreement.
